Roy Metal Finishing (RMF) coats millions of parts each year at its three facilities in South Carolina, earning a reputation as one of North America’s top finishing operations. Specializing in rack and barrel zinc plating, zinc-alloy coatings, electrocoat, and powder coating, RMF faced a challenge with its powder coating process for brake calipers and brake fluid systems. This process required extensive masking, which was labor-intensive and used many caps and plugs. To reduce costs, RMF sought an efficient solution.
Hubbard-Hall stepped in to help RMF set up an in-house stripping system using Aquastrip ACB, which removes polymeric coatings from metals. By implementing this system, RMF could strip the powder coating from their masking materials, allowing multiple reuses.
Aquastrip ACB: A mildly acidic liquid concentrate that effectively removes polymeric coatings from ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including CARC and TGIC epoxy-hybrid powder coat.
